These (despite wording in my documentation), I believe were my fourth and fifth illuminations.  The first three magically disappeared to another kingdom, mixed up in a donation pile before I ever got the chance to take pictures.  I believe one had lots of leaves, one was a more plain bar and ivy with two dragon-creatures, and I have no clue what the other one might have been.  There might only have been two before these, then I’d be wrong again.  Who knows?  I was still working in watercolour at the time, though the lady’s red dress and the dark, reddish tunic are likely watercolour and gouache mixed.

The one where the two men are fighting is actually the left-hand side of a large page, though it’s impossible to tell here.  That one’s a wood cut, so I tried to create a wood grain background.  I did this by creating a thin wash of light brown and then painting over it with thicker, darker brown.  While still wet, I scraped lines through the top paint to the bottom with a toothpick.  I also had fun doing the chainmaille and shaded faces.

The tall, left-hand bordered illumination was awarded at Kingdom A&S in the spring (calligraphy by an anonymous scribe, though I wrote the wording):
